Other options to provide your camper with internet

Post by arzina221 »

As you can see, I use web-based software a lot. The advantage of this is that it is easily accessible via a web browser (Google Chrome, Safari etc.), so you only need a good internet connection. I find it especially useful for collaboration with other freelancers, partners and clients. It is also easy and quick to learn, free and user-friendly.

How do I ensure a good internet connection in the camper?
After 2 years of travelling in the camper I can estimate when the reception will be good and when it will be less good. Before I go on the road or park somewhere, I have already figured this out and I communicate to my clients when I am available and when I am not. I use between 30 and 40 GB of data per month. I have a business mobile subscription. Unlimited data in the Netherlands and in the EU up to a maximum of 20GB per month. This is sufficient for me. The data (my mobile hotspot) in combination with internet at cafes, libraries and co-workings are sufficient to do my work well.

Personally, I find variation in workplaces important. When I work from the camper, I make sure to do a speed test – with the Speedtest app – on location, so that I can check what the loading speeds are with 4G. A mobile router / WiFi booster improves the speeds.

MiFi is a good alternative. It means 'mobile WiFi'. MiFi offers the possibility to work anywhere. You create your own hotspot, in my case in the camper. You do this with a mini-router that fits a SIM card. This can be a local prepaid card with internet data, but your Dutch SIM card also fits. In countries where the Dutch SIM card does not work, MiFi is the perfect solution. I bought a TP-Link M7650 router myself for €159. In Portugal I bought a MEO SIM card with 30 GB internet for €15, which I used for the participants of a camper retreat.

It is also an option to travel from hotspot to denmark telegram data hotspot. There are many companies where you can log in to WiFi for free, but then you are dependent on others. And to work with confidential matters on it is not wise. You can be hacked faster, so that other people can access all your data.

How do you continue to develop yourself?
As a digital nomad and vanlifer, I sometimes feel lonely. Now you're probably thinking: how do you develop yourself when you're often on the road alone? There are solutions for that too. I mainly develop myself by participating in events, retreats and workshops where many inspiring people participate. You can participate in events specially organized for digital nomads. I have already been on a cruise for digital nomads 3 times. Every time I meet many inspiring entrepreneurs and like-minded people. All kinds of workshops, lectures and meet-ups are organized on this cruise, so you can brainstorm with other entrepreneurs about your struggles, questions and ideas. A floating network conference to help your business to the next level.
