Google began rolling out the November Core Update on November 11, 2024; full implementation may take up to two weeks. Google's Danny Sullivan had previously announced that websites that lost traffic and visibility as a result of the Helpful Content Update will not regain them with the November Core Update. Therefore, website operators without high-quality content should not get their hopes up.

ChatGPT Search: OpenAI introduces a new web search feature for ChatGPT
The new search function in OpenAI's chatbot displays citations and links to sources, uses thepakistan phone number data Bing index as a basis, and, through partnerships with well-known publishers (including Axel Springer), offers access to current articles as well as special data feeds for sports results, etc. Additional improvements for shopping and travel, as well as expanded voice functions, have already been announced.

Meta develops its own AI-powered search engine
Meta is also entering the AI web search market. The planned search engine will provide AI-generated summaries of current events and will be directly integrated into Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. A web crawler has been in use for about eight months to train the company's own AI (Meta AI). Meta is also working on relevant partner agreements and recently signed a multi-year agreement with the Reuters news agency.

AI Overviews are being published more frequently and in more countries
The display of AI Overviews in US search results has increased significantly, rising from 7.8% to 15% of all search queries between June and October. Surprisingly, the healthcare sector in particular shows an extremely high proportion of AI Overviews displayed, at 58%.
In addition, Google is expanding its AI-powered overviews to over 100 countries in six languages – with a focus on South America, Asia, and Africa. Europe, with the exception of the UK, remains excluded.
