Google Ads Search Network Ad Position: Four New Metrics
For us as advertisers in performance marketing, measurability is the be-all and end-all. Where does the fluctuation in the click rate come from? Is my bid for first place still correct?

Google is shedding a little more light on the matter and will be launching a detailed breakdown of ad position metrics in the next few weeks.



The four new measurements:

Impressions (Top Position) % – The percentage usa cell phone number list of ad impressions received in the top position above the organic search results.
Impressions (Top Position) % – The percentage of ad impressions that were received above the organic search results.
Search Impression Share (Top Position) – The number of impressions an ad received in the top position (that is, the ad appears at the top above the organic search results) divided by the estimated number of impressions an ad could have received in that position.
Search Impression Share (Top Position) – The impressions an ad received in a top position (above the organic search results) divided by the estimated number of impressions an ad could have received in that position.
The first two measurements provide precise information about the current performance of the display .

The other two metrics provide an insight into the number of impressions the ad can achieve, giving us an indicator of ad potential .

If you want to check the ad position, look at the first two metrics. If you want to check the potential of the ads in order to make adjustments, look at the bottom two points.
