What is Via CTT?

Via CTT is a free electronic mailbox that allows you to receive electronic notifications from the Tax Authorities in digital format.

The Via CTT electronic mailbox allows you to receive mail in digital format, reliably, securely and while respecting the privacy and confidentiality of the data of business owners or companies. It has no associated costs and replaces the notification or citation in paper format, usually carried out by letter.



Who is required to have Via CTT?
The following are required to join Via CTT and activate electronic notifications:

IRC taxpayers ( companies, public entities, IPSS and associations);
Taxpayers covered by the normal VAT regime (who submit a periodic VAT return, monthly or quarterly).
After starting your business, and within a maximum period of 30 days, you linkedin database sign up and activate your electronic mailbox. Taxpayers who were exempt from VAT but are now subject to the normal regime are also required to do so (also within a maximum period of 30 days).

Taxpayers were subject to fines ranging from €50 to €500 when they did not adhere to electronic notifications. On 29 November 2018, Parliament approved the decriminalization of non-registration with Via CTT, i.e. when companies do not adhere to Via CTT they are not subject to paying fines.

How to join Via CTT?
Signing up for an electronic mailbox is simple and free. You can register through the following channels:

Via CTT - subscribe to the Tax and Customs Authority entity;
Finance Portal - choose the Electronic Notifications > Join option;
Post Offices - available at various local offices.
What are the advantages of Via CTT?
This service, granted to CTT, offers some advantages for both the Tax Authority and the taxpayer:

It's free;
It is safe and confidential;
It has legal value (under the Electronic Commerce Law );
It is always accessible;
Simplifies compliance with tax obligations;
Facilitates communication between the Tax Authority and taxpayers (for example, by sending notices of tax deadlines);
It reduces financial, bureaucratic and time costs (no need to travel to tax offices, for example).
