Tamba City, Hyogo Prefecture

Post by moniya12 »

Tanba City in Hyogo Prefecture was listed as one of the municipalities at risk of disappearing. The challenge for Tanba City is to maintain the vitality of the town and establish a sustainable society even as the population declines.

Over the three years from 2017 to 2019, we carried out various projects, such as attracting professional baseball Western League games and the cycling event "Tour de Tamba." We actively promoted our activities outside the city to attract more visitors.

Not only the local government, but also businesses and civic groups within the city have been carrying out city promotion projects, which have led to interactions between businesses and groups and residents, as well as collaboration between businesses and groups themselves.

Kitamoto City, Saitama Prefecture, won the Gold Prize in the City crypto email database list Promotion Awards in 2021 (※3). Kitamoto City has also been recognized as a municipality at risk of disappearing, and regional revitalization has been an issue.

Kitamoto City has noticed that the rate of women in their 20s to 40s moving out of the city is high. They have decided that the issue cannot be solved by the traditional method of providing subsidies to those who move in and by using major agencies for promotion, so they have changed the focus of their efforts.

In 2019, young local government officials and local residents began holding workshops and fieldwork together. This led to the creation of the concept of "&green - Living your own way in a relaxed town surrounded by lush greenery." The city has also attracted attention from outside the city, and its population has increased for the first time in about 17 years (※4).
