Crisis in University Digitalization and Salesforce's HEDA Solution

Post by ritu790 »

As a result of the digitalisation of their environments, universities and educational institutions are facing a significant challenge in the efficient management of information about their prospects, students, alumni and the entire set of partners and stakeholders related to these institutions. There is no doubt that universities have long realised the importance of digitalising their infrastructure and services. In fact, according to the latest “Analysis of ICT in Spanish Universities”, published by CRUE Spanish Universities, 78% of these institutions already have digital learning transformation projects underway. The problem is that teaching is only one of the aspects at stake. The management of their prospects, students and services is much more complex.
Poor digitalization in the management of university campuses
If universities want to efficiently manage their student recruitment and retention efforts, as well as ensure optimal academic performance, they need analytical tools and a CRM adapted to the nature of their service and activity. Unfortunately, this is not the case :
More than 45% of university decision makers are not confident that their marketing efforts are impacting ROI. (The State of Lead Capture in 2016, Formstack).
More than 59% of academic institutions do not have a CRM to monitor the student recruitment system (StudyPortals and iE&D Solutions).
Spanish universities allocate 3.48% of their budget to IT (CRUE), which is the same level as a decade ago and is below the 5% recommended by the OECD.
These shortcomings have a direct impact on the quality of service offered by universities and, more importantly, their effectiveness in making their efforts to attract students profitable. This situation is even more urgent, considering that public funding has fallen by around 28% since 2009, according to figures from the University System Observatory.
Salesforce HEDA: the CRM for Universities
HEDA (Higher Education Data Architecture) is a data architecture and model provided by Salesforce and designed for universities. It is an open data architecture, which has been built on Salesforce, and allows the integration of applications and custom developments. This CRM has been designed in collaboration with universities and academic application companies around the world. Basically, it allows for the provision of an infrastructure to create an interconnected campus, thus helping academic institutions to efficiently manage the relationship with their prospects, students, alumni, professors, university staff and other stakeholders.
HEDA provides a 360-degree view of the student
Thanks to HEDA, the university has a complete view of the pakistan phone number library student, in all aspects related to his/her university activity. These are distributed in relationships and affiliations, including :
Other members of the university, whether students, professors, members of the rectorate, teammates, as well as their families.
University organizations and groups, such as academic departments, colleges, etc.
Courses and academic programs in which you are enrolled or have shown interest.
All types of activities in the university environment or its sphere of influence in which it is involved.

Advantages of HEDA for universities
Through this centralized and globalized student infrastructure, university institutions achieve:
More effectively structure data from different silos or departments.
Create a common context and language within the institution and with its partners, to carry out better analysis and decision-making.
Improve the management of student relationships and activity at the university.
Let's imagine, for example, that the university wants to promote a training or conference between students, alumni and teachers that meets specific selection criteria, such as seniority, a specific training and membership of an interest group within the university.
