In recent months, the dominant emotion in all brands' messages has been empathy. A study by Crenshaw Communications , with data taken from emails sent between March and May, indicates that "25% of these emails included the word home or interiors." This shows an intention to show solidarity with recipients who were confined to their homes and working remotely .

They also found that the phrase “in these times” was present in 16% of the emails. Other words such as community, comfort and security appeared respectively in 20%, 10% and 13% of the times. These allusions were frequently repeated in messages from different brands.

Another aspect worth highlighting is that 75% of these emails contained images that mostly explained the parameters of social distancing . But they were accompanied by motivational messages in the first person plural that demonstrated this connection with the client.

Although users are already feeling saturated with the pandemic topic and, therefore, with this type of emails, this is why brands must work on their post-Covid19 email marketing campaigns. People are entering this “new normal,” and they have to do the same with brand messages.

Email marketing strategies must advance alongside this post-pandemic stage. They represent a channel through which a direct relationship with customers can be established. This, in turn, helps brands to obtain sales and reposition themselves in the market after the crisis.
