Skyworth to update smart home system
China's Skyworth Holdings will invest 1.5 billion yuan ($214.3 million) to upgrade its smart home services ecosystem, the home appliance and consumer technology giant said on Tuesday.
The new era of 5G and the Internet of Things (IoT) brings new opportunities to the home appliance industry, especially during the coronavirus outbreak , said Wang Zhiguo, chairman and president of Skyworth, at an online conference.
The company has developed a new ecosystem brand, Swaiot, referring to its Skyworth AI and IoT systems. It plans to use its investments to develop the ecosystem and support service and manufacturing partners.
Skyworth currently has more than 50 million TV users. Its system is austria telegram database connected to 20 million devices in more than 60 categories, with brands such as Huawei, Vivo, Midea and JD.com all supporting the system.
Skyworth also released new products during the conference.
The new Skyworth smart TV G71 is equipped with AI features and a pop-up camera specially designed for video conferencing, which is useful for remote working and online learning during the COVID-19 outbreak.

Other new products include a Swaiot-powered tablet that can control and interact with other devices, and a video recorder that supports 8k resolution.
