Sales data showed that the sleep market offers opportunities not only for basic sleep products, but also for a wide range of sleep-enhancing categories: candles, smart lighting, and aroma diffusers are all performing exceptionally well in e-commerce, outpacing traditional bedding. Sales of sound-proofing window stickers, for example, grew by more than 500% last year, according to Alimama.

Segments are now characterized by sleep trends and scenarios. For example, the traditional deep sleep scenario focuses on creating a calm and comfortable environment in the bedroom. Products in this scenario include high-end mattresses, aroma diffusers that promote sleep, massage equipment, and smart lighting systems. Consumers are also gravitating toward products that create a sense of ritual before bed, such as starry sky projectors and smart aroma diffusers with sleep-promoting features, according to the Alimama report.

In addition, advanced technologies are expected to offer more solutions for smart home sleep scenarios. Smart beds, sleep tracking devices, and intelligent centralized control systems are designed to improve sleep quality by controlling lighting and temperature with a single touch.

“Compared with ordinary beds, smart beds are equipped with on-chip maldives email address sensors and a full set of big data analysis models, allowing them to meet the specific needs of users. For example, the anti-snoring function, with one click of a button, can realize automatic snoring intervention, effectively alleviate sleep apnea, improve blood oxygen levels, and shorten the time it takes to fall asleep for patients with sleep apnea,” said Tang Guohai, chairman of Keeson Technology Corp Ltd, a home furniture company based in Jiaxing, Zhejiang Province.

According to Tan, ongoing research on sleep problems is providing new impetus, further spurring consumers to upgrade and creating a huge demand in the market. “Consumer needs are not always easy to capture. Manufacturers should focus on how to materialize these needs to identify greater market demand.”
