More rights for consumers

Indecopi is considering strengthening and revitalizing the Complaints Book in two months.
After being in force for more than a year, the Complaints Book could include other benefits for consumers , according to the scope that Indecopi is evaluating for implementation .
The agency is investigating the information it obtained after conducting 20,680 inspections throughout the country.
The changes in favour of users will take place in the next two months, even though the first results of the sample explain that 69% of those inspected cyprus number screening comply with the requirement of having the Complaints Book.
In the same sample, more than 2,000 cases show possible violations against the consumer.
The largest number of complaints are concentrated in restaurants, education and health services, real estate, financial operations, pharmacies, transportation and the sale of textile products, among others.
In addition to increased supervision and monitoring, Indecopi plans to rethink the use of this tool, especially to improve and facilitate the obligations of all suppliers.
The president of Indecopi, Hebert Tassano , said that the scope of the definition of "commercial establishment" in the proposals could be expanded to include claims regarding commercial operations carried out over the Internet.
