Rating: Not Secure & Limited Functionality

In this review I will of course look at the functionality of the Google Analytics apps, but also at the security of logging in. Google offers two methods to give permission to the app to use your analytics data.
Login: Be warned!
Apps need user permission to access Google Analytics data. You can give this permission in two ways:
The standard way is via OAuth, AuthSub or Open ID. These protocols give the app access to your data without you having to specify a login name and password. You can easily revoke this permission.
The non-standard way is to manually type your login name and password into the application. You are giving your login name and password to the provider of the application.
Ways to log in
I advise everyone to avoid the non-standard way. Only use this when you are sure that the builder is a reliable party. For this review I created a dummy account with only user rights in Google Analytics.
GoAnalytics
GoAnalytics has been on the market since uk phone data anuary 2012 and has had a few updates since then. The last one was in March 2012. The app has been installed between 5,000 and 10,000 times. Unfortunately, logging in has to be done manually, which is a risk.
The app offers standard metrics such as visits , page views and traffic types . Under the 'Moreā¦' menu you can find details such as campaign information, AdWords, system information (browser, OS) and geographic information. You can adjust the reporting period with standard periods (week, month) or specify a custom period .
Go Analytics
This app uses the non-secure method to log in. That's why I don't recommend using this app. You don't really miss anything: the functionality is limited and the layout is pretty standard. The app might have been a good option a year ago. Now there are better apps that also have a secure method to share your data.
