Many see Elon Musk's acquisition of Twitter as a mere whim on the part of the Tesla CEO. It is, however, an extremely expensive whim that will have to be financed by loans.
Musk may be a billionaire, but his personal nigeria phone number data fortune is rooted primarily in his stock portfolio and not so much in cash, so to finance the purchase of Twitter he will have to go into debt or, failing that, sell Tesla shares.
It therefore seems that Twitter will have to continue making money in the future if it does not want to become the Achilles heel of Elon Musk's empire.
However, Musk has already announced that he would like to reduce the role of advertising on Twitter. And if he goes ahead with his plan to cut moderation tools on the social network, many advertisers will end up perceiving Twitter as a harmful advertising environment .
The South African apparently wants Twitter's business model to shift towards subscriptions, but it is almost impossible not to be suspicious of the success of this shift on a platform where users have been accustomed to free services since the beginning of time.
