Trump under legal scrutiny for his social network and the dismissal of the lawsuit against Twitter

Post by samiaseo75 »

Donald Trump 's war against Twitter 's ban continues with an appeal against the dismissal of the lawsuit he filed after the platform permanently banned him from it following the assault on the Capitol on January 6, 2021.

The lawsuit, which argued that Twitter's action luxembourg phone number data violated her free speech rights, was dismissed last month by U.S. District Judge James Donato.

Now the former US president has filed a notice of appeal in San Francisco , which means that this case will go to court and his lawyers and those of the social network will face each other again.

Trump's lawsuit argues that Democrats "coerced" Twitter into disavowing him. Judge Donato rejected the claim that Jack Dorsey, then Twitter's CEO, "willfully engaged in joint activity with federal actors to censor" Trump.

That meant Trump will lose his nearly 89 million followers. He also lost his Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Snapchat and Twitch profiles. In any case, the politician has explicitly promised that he will not rejoin Twitter even if the ruling is overturned (nor with the prospect of Elon Musk taking over).
