Nintendo impersonations are happening and more

Post by samiaseo75 »

On October 28, Elon Musk became the new official owner of Twitter , after months of confusion and uncertainty about whether he would finally buy the social network. His arrival has been a revolution, since the businessman is willing to make a multitude of changes, some of which are not at all liked by users or advertisers and which are even causing serious problems.

One of them has to do with verified accounts. One of those kazakhstan phone number data changes Musk made was to make Twitter's blue verification check a paid option, costing $8 (although there was going to be a version with a grey badge ).

This has led to profile impersonations, i.e. people buying verified accounts and pretending to be public figures or well-known companies. One of those affected was Nintendo USA, which had to watch an account with the blue “check” post an image of its iconic character Mario Bros giving the middle finger to the user. “I don’t understand why advertisers are leaving Twitter,” wrote one Twitter user, citing this example.
