people. It is therefore important that you create content that perfectly matches the information needs of your target group.
Furthermore, you can exclude sites that you really don't want to be shown on. If you as a provider don't want to contribute to the traffic of your competitors, you can also exclude content that they want to promote through you."
Are there any advertisers already using it?
“In the Netherlands, Pepijn Groeneveld expects the first advertisers after the summer. Initially, the focus is on developing a network, so on the publishers. There are many examples abroad. For example, Shell, Red Bull, Ford, L'Oreal, P&G, Mini, Adidas, KLM and Philips use Outbrain to promote their content. A few examples of content that advertisers promote via Outbrain can be found here:

You were talking about some smart Israeli…
Yaron Galai
“You mean Yaron Galai (pictured left)? This Israeli internet entrepreneur started Outbrain seven years ago. In the US. Outbrain has now been or is being rolled out to Brazil, Singapore, Israel, Australia, norway phone data Spain, Germany, France, Portugal, England, Italy, Sweden and the Netherlands. The European headquarters are located in London. Outbrain has now been installed on 90,000 blogs and sites, good for 21,000 displayed links per second and 50 billion recommendations per month.”
Impressive figures, but will they become a success in the Netherlands?
“If they can build a strong network that can reach a large audience, I give them a good chance. The success in other countries shows that it works and that there is a need for it. As we create and publish more content, it becomes more difficult to sell it. Content marketers are desperate for this kind of tool.”
But the algorithm is the Achilles heel?
“I agree with you. The moment the quality of the recommendations decreases, the instrument loses its value. It is just like people who give you advice: one sends you on a wild goose chase, the other gives (sometimes surprising) tips that really help you. The latter is useful, the former is worthless.
